I wore a bow tie to my commencement. (I am pretty sure that I was considered 'best dressed' for the ceremony today.)
The department lunch was great. They had photographers to take pictures and we could get them printed out for free and on the spot. The Psychology Department rocks.
Diana Ser was our guest speaker. She sounds even better in person. Amazing voice.
Our valedictorian gave the best speech, honestly. So relate-able. She was funny without the cliches or lame-ness. She even made me tear at one point. She made herself emotional! Says it all.
The valedictorian for Sociology (the other department that had the ceremony the same time as us) could not come close at all to the epic-ness of Sarah's (the psych valedictorian) speech.
My family was there - the Momster, Vin, Amarit and even my cousin. First time ever.
It was funny how my mother was fussing over our gowns while we were in the Robe Changing area. But she kinda glanced over me and Disha and paid most attention to Aisha. You had to be there.
Thank god for Shiru because she was sitting next to me during the ceremony and we kinda entertained each other throughout. It was fun.
And Jeevan and Kalai who came down! I was surprised and happy all at the same time. Plus they bought a gift!
There were tons of pictures, a myriad of poses and the conversations everyone was having with my cousin or my mother. Going from one place to another to talk to this person or to take a photo with that person.
I loved it. I could not have asked for a better graduation.
Rock on people.
